Scattered
Made for the Detroit 48 Hour Film Project. Shot and cut across a weekend, uploaded with six minutes left on the clock.
Trail Dead
Invisible threat, visible dread. Tension built almost entirely in the cut.
MOZ Interiors
Where luxury meets livability. Two Detroit Design Awards out of one shoot.
Things I Built
All six, in order →Story Generator
Roll for a genre, a character, a setting, and one constraint you have to honor. Built for the night you want to shoot something but can't decide what.
Roll the dice →Golden Hour Helper
Pick a date and location, then see the actual blue-hour and golden-hour windows, sun position, daylight, and a shootable plan.
Chase the light →SkyBound : Weather
A plain-English flying read on current wind, real gusts, visibility, precipitation, temperature, and the Part 107 ceiling.
Check the air →SkyBound : Drone
The drone path, in order: simulate before you buy, learn from pilots worth learning from, build the kit, then go get your Part 107.
Start at step one →Aspect Ratio Previewer
Compare frames, preview crops, and translate a delivery size without reaching for a calculator or guessing what gets cut.
Frame it up →LaB Assistant
Ask the site about films, owned and borrowed gear, checked resources, Michigan events, drones, or how the whole thing was built.
Ask a question →The Notebook
Everything →References & Craft
The stuff I go back to : shot breakdowns, editing theory, color, and the channels that explain why instead of just how.
02Drone & FPV
Sims, gear, reputable shops, and the full Part 107 path. This one got big enough that it became its own page.
03AI Tools
The handful that actually earn a spot in a real workflow, and honest notes on where each one falls apart.
04Music & Sound
Score, licensing, and sound effects libraries that won't get your video muted three days after upload.
05Film Fests
Michigan-first, plus the national ones worth the entry fee. If you’ve never submitted anything, the timed competitions are the friendliest door.
Why this exists. The films came first. The Notebook is everything that earned a place along the way : tools, references, and people worth returning to. It stays public, free, and doesn’t ask for your email.
And yes, I built this. Plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript on free hosting. No framework or signup; one tiny Worker protects the optional AI phrasing. Start with About the Site; if something still isn’t clear, just ask.
